Me and my craft…
I am a photographer and visual artist based in Boulder Colorado, currently studying Fine Art at CU Boulder. My practice moves between fine art and action sports photography, with a shared interest in physical spaces, human interaction, and the relationship between people and their environments.
My fine art work explores social issues, using constructed scenes and environments to examine the systems that shape contemporary life. My process is rooted in hands on experimentation and working physically with materials, sets, and spaces. Rather than relying on extensive digital manipulation, I aim to create images in camera, allowing the construction of each photograph to become an important part of my concept. My work has been exhibited at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center, and various student exhibitions on campus.
In action sports photography, my approach is similarly grounded in being present in the field. I value the experience of being immersed in the environments and communities I photograph, working alongside the people and culture that shape each sport. My work has included coverage of ITHG’s Green River Classic, as well as appearances in publications through a cover image and feature.
I am currently continuing to develop both practices, finding common ground between the intentional construction of fine art imagery and the spontaneous, unpredictable nature of action sports photography. Across both, I value the process of making images as much as the final photograph.
